Thyme Recycled-Olefin Upholstery Fabric
Thyme is the heavier-weight sibling of Chive in Kobe's recycled-olefin family — same fibre composition (94% recycled olefin / 6% polyester), same suite of olefin advantages, but at 580 g/m² it has more body on the chair. The Uni weave reads soft and lightly slubbed, with the same warm, hand-spun natural look. All the practical olefin advantages carry over: light fastness 7 (top of scale), UV-stability, hydrophobic stain-release, mould resistance. 45,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC), pilling 4-5, rub fastness 4-5. 10 colours, 89 €/m. Not flame-retardant — for FR specs in the same olefin family, see Cassia FR.
Description
Thyme rounds out Kobe’s recycled-olefin Uni range with a heavier weight option. The fibre composition matches Chive (94% recycled olefin / 6% polyester binder), but at 580 g/m² it sits between Chive (535) and Cilantro (523, Dessin) on the spec sheet, with a slightly fuller hand and more visible yarn texture on the surface. The result reads as a confident, residential-leaning natural-fibre cloth — the kind you would specify on a single statement sofa in a living room rather than across a whole hospitality scheme.
The olefin properties are the constant: light fastness 7 (top of scale), UV-stability that holds colour in daylit rooms, hydrophobic surface (spills sit and wipe off), mould resistance. 45,000 Martindale rubs at Class SC, pilling 4-5, rub fastness 4-5, shrinkage 1%. 10 colours in a warm cream / oat / earth-tone palette. Not flame-retardant.
