Marfil Recycled-Olefin Upholstery Fabric
Marfil sits in the same family as Dita — 100% recycled olefin PP, single-fibre monomaterial construction with all the olefin advantages: UV-stability, hydrophobic stain-release surface, no degradation in sunlight. The Uni weave is soft with a fine micro-texture; the swatch palette runs from cream and oat through warm naturals to muted neutrals. From a sustainability spec angle, a monofibre cloth is easier to recycle at end of life than a blend. 12 colours, 94 €/m. Not flame-retardant — for FR specifications in the same olefin family, see Cassia FR.
Description
Marfil belongs to Kobe’s monofibre recycled-olefin range (alongside Dita and Sadira). The construction is 100% recycled olefin PP — no synthetic carrier, no fibre blend. From a sustainability angle this matters: a monomaterial cloth is mechanically simpler to recycle at end of life than a mixed-fibre construction, and the recycled-olefin yarn itself is sourced from post-industrial waste streams.
Olefin (polypropylene) brings a specific set of practical properties: it is naturally hydrophobic, so spills sit on the surface rather than soaking in, and the cloth wipes clean. It is UV-stable, which keeps colours fast in daylit rooms over years. It does not feed mould or mildew. The Uni weave is soft with a fine micro-texture, with a warm cream-and-naturals palette that reads as an honest, residential-grade upholstery cloth. 12 colours. Not flame-retardant.
