Lazuli FR Flame-Retardant Upholstery Fabric
Lazuli FR is a plush, soft-hand FR Uni — 43% polyester / 41% polyacrylic / 16% viscose, blended for tactility rather than for pure performance. The chenille construction gives it a velvety surface that reads as warmer and more residential than a standard contract Uni. Despite that softer hand, the certification stack is full UK-spec: EN 1021, IMO Part 8, C&M and the British BS 5852 CRIB 5 — opening Lazuli FR up to UK hospitality contracts where most plush FR fabrics cannot go. 35,000 Martindale rubs (Class GC), pilling 5, rub fastness 5/4-5, light fastness 5. 440 g/m² on 140 cm, 20 colours, 81 €/m.
Description
Lazuli FR covers a gap that comes up regularly in hotel briefs: we want a fabric that feels like a residential cushion, not like a contract cloth, but it still has to pass UK fire safety. Plush, soft-hand fabrics usually pull back on certification or durability to deliver the tactility. Lazuli FR keeps both. The fibre blend is unusual — 43% polyester (the FR carrier and structural reinforcement), 41% polyacrylic (the dry, woollen feel), 16% viscose (the soft, low-sheen finish) — and it produces a chenille-surface Uni that reads warmer and more inviting than a standard polyester contract cloth.
The certification stack is the differentiator. On top of the European set (EN 1021, IMO Part 8, C&M), Lazuli FR carries the British BS 5852 CRIB 5 — the severe contract benchmark required by UK public buildings and many international hospitality projects with British compliance language. 35,000 Martindale rubs at Class GC, pilling 5 (top of scale), dry rub fastness 5 (top), wet rub fastness 4-5, light fastness 5. 20 colours edited as a coherent hospitality palette.
