Dolomite FR Recycled Flame-Retardant Upholstery Fabric
Dolomite FR is a sustainability-led FR Uni built for heavy-contract use — 69% recycled polyester with 31% polyester binding the structure, woven as a Uni with a soft short-pile surface that reads as suede rather than as a flat weave. The headline number is the Martindale: 100,000 rubs at Class SC — twice the threshold for severe contract use — paired with pilling 5, rub fastness 4-5 and light fastness 5. Inherent FR carries EN 1021, IMO Part 8 and C&M. The result: a fabric where over two-thirds of the mass is recycled and the technical sheet sits at the top of the contract scale. 565 g/m² on a 140 cm bolt, 22 colours.
Description
Dolomite FR answers a question that is increasingly the deciding factor in hospitality and corporate spec sheets: can a fabric carry serious recycled content without dropping a class on durability or fire safety? Dolomite FR’s answer is unusually convincing. The fibre mix is 69% recycled polyester with 31% (virgin) polyester binding the structure and ensuring dye-stability — and the durability is at the very top of the contract scale: 100,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC). That is twice the threshold for severe contract use, four times the threshold for general residential. In practice it means Dolomite FR is appropriate for the hardest-working hospitality seating without compromise.
The Uni weave is a soft short-pile — closer to a suede or low-pile velvet than to a flat weave. The 565 g/m² weight gives it body, and the pile catches light gently across long sofa backs and bench seats. Inherent flame retardancy on EN 1021, IMO Part 8 and C&M (no CRIB 5 in this one — for UK-spec FR with CRIB 5, see Calace FR, Alberti FR, Amarant FR or Beryl FR). Pilling 5, rub fastness 4-5, light fastness 5. 22 colours edited as a coherent palette spanning warm naturals, cool greys and saturated colour accents.
