Dita Recycled-Olefin Upholstery Fabric
Dita is the purest member of Kobe's recycled-olefin family — 100% recycled olefin PP, a single-fibre recycled construction with no synthetic carrier. The Uni weave is soft and micro-textured, with the dry handle that the olefin yarn naturally produces. At 275 g/m² Dita is the lightest of the olefin range — closer in weight to a curtain cloth than to a heavy contract Uni — which makes it easy to upholster on shaped chairs, slip-covers and curved frames where a heavier blend would resist the cut. All the olefin properties are there: light fastness 7, UV-stability, stain-release, hydrophobic surface. 40,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC), pilling 5, rub fastness 4-5. 12 colours, 63 €/m — the entry price point in the olefin family.
Description
Dita is the simplest answer to the recycled-fibre question. While Chia, Chive and Cilantro mix recycled olefin with a small polyester carrier (the polyester locks the structure and helps with dye-stability), Dita does without: 100% recycled olefin PP, single-fibre, monomaterial. From a sustainability spec angle that matters — a monofibre construction is easier to recycle at end of life than a blend.
Visually the cloth is a soft Uni with a fine, hand-spun-feeling micro-texture. At 275 g/m² it sits at the light end of upholstery — substantial enough for sofa and chair use, light enough for shaped frames and slip-covers without fighting the seamstress. The headline practical numbers stay strong: light fastness 7 (top of scale), hydrophobic / stain-release surface, 40,000 Martindale rubs at Class SC, pilling 5 and rub fastness 4-5. Dita is not flame-retardant. At 63 €/m it is the entry price in the olefin family — useful when budget is the deciding factor on a residential or light-contract specification.
