Cilantro Recycled-Olefin Textured Upholstery Fabric
Cilantro is the textured sibling of Chia and Chive — same recycled-olefin DNA (92% recycled olefin / 8% polyester) but built as a Dessin weave with a fine 4 × 4.5 cm micro-texture instead of a flat Uni. The pattern is small enough to read as a textile, not as a design feature: it gives the surface a quiet rhythm that catches light gently across a sofa, a chair or a long bench. All the olefin properties carry over from Chia/Chive: light fastness 7 (top of scale), UV-stability, stain-resistance, hydrophobic surface. 523 g/m² on a 140 cm bolt, 30,000 Martindale rubs (Class GC), pilling 5. 11 colours in a coherent natural-tone palette. Not flame-retardant.
Description
Cilantro answers a specific question: I love the practical olefin properties of Chia and Chive — UV-stable, stain-resistant, easy to live with — but I want a touch more visual texture, not a flat Uni. Cilantro keeps the 92% recycled-olefin core (the rest is 8% polyester binding the structure) but weaves it as a Dessin with a 4 × 4.5 cm pattern repeat. That repeat is small — it reads as a textural cloth rather than a patterned one — but it lifts the surface with a quiet rhythm that catches shadow differently as the light moves through the room.
The technical sheet keeps the olefin promises. Light fastness 7 is the top of the standard scale; olefin’s natural UV-stability protects colour in conservatory-style daylit rooms where most cloth fades inside a year. Hydrophobic surface means spills sit and wipe away rather than soaking in. Pilling 5 and rub fastness 4-5 are solid. 30,000 Martindale rubs at Class GC covers general residential and light contract use. 523 g/m² on a 140 cm bolt is comfortable mid-weight — uphost easily, sits well on shaped chairs. 11 colours edited as a coherent natural-tone palette. Not flame-retardant — for FR specs in the same olefin family, see Cassia FR.
