Ceramic Decorative Viscose-Cotton Fabric
Ceramic is a decorative natural-fibre fabric — 59% viscose with 41% cotton, woven as a Dessin with a strikingly large 40 × 69 cm pattern repeat. At 161 g/m² it is a light cloth, more aligned with curtains, decorative panels and cushion covers than with sofas in everyday use. Use Ceramic where you want the textile itself to do the design work: a feature cushion arrangement, a fabric-clad headboard, a curtain run or a single accent armchair that is not sat on every day. 4 colours, edited as a coherent decorative palette. Light fastness 5, 20,000 Martindale rubs (Class GD) — light upholstery / decorative use.
Description
Ceramic is a different kind of fabric in the Kobe range — not a contract upholstery cloth, but a natural-fibre decorative textile that earns its place on the spec sheet by virtue of design, not durability numbers. The fibre mix is 59% viscose / 41% cotton — both natural, both soft, both responsive to dye in ways that synthetics cannot match. The weave is a Dessin with an exceptionally large 40 × 69 cm pattern repeat: this is not a small textural motif, it is a designed visual element that will be visible across a cushion, a panel, a curtain length.
The technical numbers tell you where to use it. 161 g/m² is light — closer to a heavier curtain cloth than a typical upholstery weight. 20,000 Martindale rubs at Class GD (General Domestic) means light residential use is fine, intensive sit-on contract use is not. Light fastness 5 is solid; shrinkage 1% is normal for a natural fibre. Specify Ceramic for cushion suites, fabric-clad bedheads, single accent chairs, drapes and decorative panels — the places where the cloth is seen, not where it is sat on for eight hours a day. 4 colours.
