Cenia FR Patterned Flame-Retardant Upholstery Fabric
Cenia FR is a patterned, inherently flame-retardant upholstery fabric — 49% polyester blended with 44% acrylic and 7% viscose, woven as a Dessin with a substantial 22 × 18 cm pattern repeat. That repeat size is the difference between a textural micro-weave and a fabric you specify deliberately as a visual feature: Cenia FR works on an accent armchair, a pair of dining chairs, a row of bar stools — anywhere you want the seating to carry recognisable character. At 530 g/m² it is a mid-weight cloth with the abrasion (50,000 Martindale, Class SC), pilling (5) and fastness numbers (dry/wet rub 4-5, light 5) to last in contract use. Certified to EN 1021, IMO Part 8 and C&M. 19 colours.
Description
Cenia FR is the answer to a specific brief: we need a patterned FR fabric for the hospitality scheme — not a velvet, not a flat Uni, something with character that still passes the fire spec. The Dessin weave is woven (not printed) on a 22 × 18 cm repeat — large enough to be a clear design feature, small enough to upholster cleanly on standard chair frames without dropping seams in awkward places. The fibre mix gives it real depth: polyester carries the inherent flame retardancy, acrylic delivers a dry, woollen-feeling handle, and viscose lifts the surface with a soft, low-sheen lustre.
Certified to EN 1021-1/2, IMO Part 8 and C&M. 530 g/m² on a 140 cm bolt is a mid-weight cloth — substantial enough to feel like a serious fabric, not so heavy that complex curved frames become a problem. 40,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC), pilling 5, dry/wet rub fastness 4-5 and light fastness 5 cover severe domestic and general contract use comfortably. 19 colours — the palette is selected to read as a coherent scheme across the entire collection, not as 19 random samples.
