Axium FR Recycled Flame-Retardant Upholstery Fabric
Axium FR is a sustainability-led, inherently flame-retardant upholstery fabric — 63% acrylic blended with 18% recycled polyester, 16% recycled olefin PP and 3% polyester. The Uni weave is gently melange: small colour-shifts inside the yarn give the surface a warm, hand-spun look instead of a flat machine-made finish. At 630 g/m² it is a substantial cloth, with light fastness 6-7 (outstanding), pilling 5 and 50,000 Martindale rubs class GC. Certified to EN 1021, IMO Part 8 and C&M — Axium FR is the FR specification for hospitality and office projects where recycled content needs to sit on the spec sheet without giving up technical performance. 19 colours.
Description
Axium FR answers a question that gets asked more and more in hospitality and corporate spec: can we put recycled content into the upholstery without dropping a class on durability or fire safety? Yes. The fibre blend is 63% acrylic, 18% recycled polyester, 16% recycled olefin PP and 3% polyester — over a third of the cloth by mass is recycled material, and the rest is selected for inherent flame retardancy and abrasion performance.
The Uni weave reads as a soft melange — fine differences in yarn shade give the surface visual depth without introducing pattern. 630 g/m² on a 140 cm bolt is a heavy-quality cloth, the kind that holds its shape on long sofa backs and structured bench seats. 50,000 Martindale rubs (Class GC), pilling 5 and rub fastness 4-5 cover general contract use comfortably. The standout figure is light fastness 6-7 — practically the top of the scale — which makes Axium FR a strong choice for daylit lobbies, glazed meeting rooms and any spec where colour holding matters over years.
