Amarant FR Flame-Retardant Upholstery Fabric
Amarant FR is a plain, contract-grade flame-retardant upholstery fabric in 96% polyester with 4% viscose lifting the surface with a soft, dry handle. The Uni weave reads quiet and refined — it lets shapes and seams speak. 50,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC), light fastness 5 and a full certification stack — EN 1021, IMO Part 8, C&M and BS 5852 CRIB 5 — make Amarant FR ready for hotels, offices and public-space projects, including British-spec contracts. 22 colours, edited as a coherent palette.
Description
Amarant FR is the workhorse of a hospitality FR range — a plain, well-engineered upholstery fabric that does not try to be the hero of the room. The 96% polyester base brings the inherent flame retardancy and the durability; the 4% viscose adds a small but noticeable dry handle that elevates the cloth above pure-polyester equivalents. With BS 5852 CRIB 5 on top of the European set (EN 1021, IMO Part 8, C&M), Amarant FR opens up British-spec hospitality contracts where many cheaper FRs cannot go.
Technically: 50,000 Martindale rubs (Class SC), pilling 4-5, dry/wet rub fastness 4, light fastness 5. The 22-colour palette is unusually broad for an FR Uni at this price point — from soft naturals through warmer terracottas to muted teals and graphites — making it easy to specify across multiple seating types in a single project (lobby, restaurant, meeting rooms) without breaking visual language.
